Millennium Restaurant Group brought a contemporary classic to the Kalamazoo Mall when it opened Epic Bistro.  Epic leads the competition with its innovative wine list and exciting fare, all in surroundings that every guest can enjoy.  With a classy yet casual setting at the very heart of downtown Kalamazoo , Epic is the place to be!
 
The Epic Bistro is located in The Epic Center, at the heart of the Kalamazoo Mall. Many characteristics meld to create an Epic dining experience.  All of our dishes are prepared from scratch, in full view, from our open show kitchen.  Enjoy the company of your guests as you sip one of twenty wines by the glass, or over 120 by the bottle.  Be pampered by our attentive staff.  All of this in a classy contemporary ambiance that is sure to please every guest at your table!

Epic’s in-house wine bar, known as Bin 359, is like nothing you’ve experienced!  Complete with a Winekeeper dispensing cabinet, which keeps our three or six ounce pours of your choice of twenty wines free of oxidation. In fact, Epic Bistro has  been recognized by The Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence as being among the best in the country.  One new and exciting change to Millennium’s offerings is the Flight Menu at Epic Bistro. Available in Bin 359, this menu offers wine tastings for Epic Bistro guests.


At Epic, a flight consists of three wines, poured at two ounces each. This type of menu item allows guests to create their own tasting! Order two flights and compare similar whites and similar reds! Or order to suit the many new dishes that you are trying from our bar menu.  This menu also contains many new dishes including lighter fare such as sandwiches and appetizers. 
If wine isn’t your thing, not to worry!  The bar is stocked with all of your favorites: premium liquors, bottled or draft beers. 
 
Our Chef
 
Chef Encarnacion Rios III, the Chef of Epic Bistro is no stranger to a kitchen.  Apprenticing under Master Chef Brian Walsh at the Kent Country Club (est. 1896), Chef Rios learned the fine art of a classic, old world kitchen.  From 1994-1996, Rios had opportunity to define this knowledge at such competitions as the ACF Junior Culinary Olympics, and the National Restaurant Association’s Culinary Arts Salon. 
 
Chef Rios has truly given Epic’s menu an originality that no other Kalamazoo establishment can boast.  With the open kitchen located adjacent to Epic’s dining room, the staff follows Chef Rios into the creation of regional and seasonal delights in full view of every guest.  From housemade pizzas prepared in a traditional brick, wood-burning pizza oven, to the organic greens tossed in specialty salads and dishes, to the local and imported fish cut daily, Chef Rios’ cuisine represents only the freshest ingredients available.
